We have received an influx of questions regarding what quartz countertops are made of, and where the material is coming from. Quartz countertops are made with the Bretonstone technology. Therefore the composition is basically the same for many of the quartz companies. Quartz is 93% minerals. The remaining balance are different resins and dyes to make the various colors and pattern. The following quote "all quartz countertops, despite the brand, are derived from the Breton company's original Bretonstone technology created over fifty years ago." Therefore many of the quartz brands are similar and the distinguishing differences are the colors and the different warranties and certifications the companies have.
